The majority of Indian forms of building contract define the requirement for a Superintendent. The Superintendent’s role is to administer the parties’ contractual obligations and when required make determinations and assessments that fairly interpret the Contract.

Recent changes in procurement/delivery methods have seen an increase in the requirement for an Independent Certifier.

An Independent Certifier is someone jointly appointed by the two parties of a contract/deed/agreement for lease to provide critical expertise during the construction phase of a project to ensure compliance with the project brief/contractual obligation and provide dispute resolution services where required.
